Each image enters a conversation with the other image.
The picture that I took is a hallway of my apartment building. The light coming through from the only window at the end of the hallway brings the natural light inside. Every time, I walk towards my apartment laying down at the end of the hallway, everything becomes brighter and clear. That boosts a quite hopeful vibe, especially during the particular covid time.
My eyes just cannot move away from the sunlight on the back of the sign in Ike’s photo. The sunlight shining through the window echoes with the sunlight on the sign, which adds up an energetic tone to the whole image.
From my understanding, although these two photos are in black and white, stripping away colors, I feel a sense of hope from the natural sunlight included in both photos.
