Wk 12: Animation: My vague space (Cornell box)

My Vague Space Animation (made with Unity)
My Vague Space Animation (made with Unity)

My project idea comes from the movie I recently watched – The Aeronauts.  That semi-biographical adventure movie is about a scientist and an Aeronaut mount a balloon expedition to fly higher than anyone in history. When they get higher, they see the views they have never see or even imagined. Even though things became vaguer up to that height, the absolute quietness and immense world truly impress me. That ambiance calms me down and pulls me out of my personal annoying things and feels the beauty of the world we live in. That made me think that, when we focus too much on ourselves, we narrow our worlds down. Especially at this specific moment, at the end of the semester, it is common to feel overwhelmed sometimes, but if there is a place to just let you to relax, to remind you that your world is not what you see in front, the larger world and the broader view you will have if you can sometimes pull yourselves out. I wish this vague place is a place to meditate and to think.

This is my very first time using Unity, I have encountered many problems but with the online instructions, I solved them, fortunately. At the very beginning, I have so many troubles in installing Unity. Due to some compilation issues and some unknown settings of Unity Hub, I spent a whole afternoon to install it.

Installing Unity like forever

I think it is a quite challenging and interesting experience to make an animated Cornell box with Unity. Even though I was stressed out by this or that operation all the time, I felt that I dabbled into a rabbit hole when I finally came to the end of this animation project. I think I would keep exploring Unity in the future.
